I grew up in Newburgh, New York and played drums and guitar in several underground bands in the 1990s. I am one of the founding members of All Out War. My novels, The Postcard and The Mansion focus on my hometown in the Hudson Valley.I wrote and directed the short film, No Deposit No Return (1997), which has screened at a number of film festivals.I’m also a scholar of television, film, and digital media, and the author or Cinema of Confinement (Northwestern University Press) and Capturing Digital Media (Bloomsbury Academic).
